Let the Countdown Begin!
One month until Relay for Life in Chino. Thanks to those that have joined the team (and those that I've volunteered). :)
If you can make a donation to our team, go here. Every little bit will help us reach our goal!
You can also donate Luminarias in honor or memory of a friend or loved one who has fought cancer.
If you are a cancer survivor, let me know there are special events for you throughout the day and we'd be honored if you'd join us.
There's going to be an all night softball tournament the night of the relay. If you're playing softball, I don't have to walk! :)

Relay for Life Update

We're getting down to crunch time! The hubby has officially joined my team (mumbling something about marital obligations) and now I'm asking you to! (If I can't get at least 8 more people to commit to doing the relay with us in the next 2 weeks, we're just going to join one of the other teams.)
Most of the details can be found on my previous post here. You don't have to stay the whole 24 hours, and even if you're only able to come for a few hours, I'd love to have you on my team!
To join our team, just click here. You can also make donations there, which will be greatly appreciated in helping us reach our fundraising goal!

Irony?
Last night I got home from work and opened 4 days worth of mail (hey, I was in Vegas and visiting a friend remember?) One of the letters that I opened was from my dermatologist. It was the lab report for the mole that he removed a few weeks ago. The mole was "abnormal". I then proceeded to head off to the Team Captain's meeting for the Relay for Life event in Chino. As I was sitting in the parking lot waiting, I messaged Kim...
JA: Reasons I'm like you...I have an abnormal mole and I am convinced that I have skin cancer.
KT: Oh no. When did it show up?
JA: I've had it forever
KT: Oh well that's good
JA: Except that skin cancer runs in my family
KT (aka KT MD): I think it has to have changed significantly
JA: They removed it and the lab said it was abnormal - see how that just made you worry?
KT: Oh dear!!! I hate that word
JA: Is there irony in the fact that I'm going to a Relay for Life meeting now?
KT: I hope not
My name is Jenn Ann and I'm a hypochondriac like Kim :)

Are you with me?
I've decided to create a team for the Relay for Life Event in Chino this summer.
Who: Me and a group of people who want to be a part of what promises to be a great experience to benefit a good cause - The American Cancer Society - the more the merrier!
What: It's a 24 hour event that includes walking/running (we all take turns - hence the relay - with at least one person on the track at all time), games and entertainment, lunch, dinner, and breakfast, and of course a little camping! As a member you will help collect donations and help out the team.
When: August 2-3 9:00 AM - 9:00 AM
Where: Ayala Park in Chino - This is literally down the street from my house and I'm offering deluxe accommodations at Kolbow Bed & Breakfast for anyone that might need to travel in from out of the area the day before :)
Why: Who doesn't know someone whose life has been affected by some type of cancer?
Let me know if you'd like to join my team and I'll send you more details. I'd love for everyone that reads my blog to participate!
P.S. And Jenn, I know that the 3rd is your wedding - don't worry I didn't forget. I wouldn't miss it for the world!!!
