First, Kim1Champ became Sydney's Mom (Example A and Example B). Now I'm not sure what has happened to Queen B, but she is suddenly OBSESSED with calling me at work. For the last three days (and really, ever since we had our first conference call with Kim), Queen B has made it a point to call me each afternoon (or at least thought about it so much she told me she was going to (Wednesday). We have spoke on the phone more this week, than we have since we've known each other.
The Queen and I have "known" each other for quite some time now - almost 2 years or so. The number of hours spent in the same vicinity is less than 48, but we have conversed countless hours via the blogs (Example A, Example B, Example C), BBM, and AIM.
You'll note that none of our usual methods of communication actually involve verbal communication. Perhaps this is why we get along so well with Kim (and here's further proof in case you need it). This also explains why, when I finally met the Queen (in person) in January, I was shocked that the Texan sounded like she grew up in Southern California. You can witness this phenomenom next Tuesday when we join Striker for his blog radio show. Details can be found here. You can even call in and ask to hear the story about how Queen B gave me my stage name of Polly!

Happiness is...
...surprise visits from a Starbucks bearing Kim1Champ with Sydney! (Don't you all wish you worked with her sister in So Cal?)

Entertainment is watching KT when she realized that I had just witnessed her further proving that she is Sydney's Mom. She was talking to Sydney while changing her diaper and when I pointed out that she was SO Sydney's Mom, she then proceeded to "mommy talk" to Sydney to tell her that someone just caught her. The worst part? I know I'm going to be just like her one day (hopefully).

Cutest 9 month old on the planet!!!
That's Madeline in case you were wondering. :)
I went to see Bianka and Maddie last night after work for a tour of their new house - which now has a washer, dryer and dishwasher, still no fridge or kitchen sink though! I'm not sure where John was...hmmm... But I digress...
We were sitting outside and Maddie was crawling around on the patio (it's very smooth concrete, I promise) when Bianka asked if I wanted to see Maddie play on the grass. The pictures below are not of her walking or crawling, but rather the way she poses to avoid touching the grass (or to touch it as little as possible).
She resists putting her feet down unless she is forced to. When she does, she only puts one foot down and does everything in her power to keep the other foot off of the grass.
When put down on the grass on all fours, she teetors on opposing knee and hand, frozen.

How cute is she?! I don't think she was pleased that we made her do this experiment twice since Mr. Pearl was having issues and needed his battery removed.

Don't You Want to Come to the Lake with Us?
Anchoring the boat sometimes poses a challenge. Especially when the current pushes the boat away from the buoy. Enter KFuj, who as a swim instructor had the credentials required to swim towards the buoy while dragging the boat.

Thanks KFuj!!!
BTW, there was an incident with the trailer yesterday. While driving the boat off of the trailer I broke one of the 2 boards that the boat sits on. This resulted in a three hour expedition by the hubby and his friend Mikael to make a replacement. The girls went out and played on the boat while the boys fixed the trailer. :) I've now mastered driving the boat onto the trailer, I just need to work on getting it off...I think the hubby needs to pull a little farther into the water and I'll be good to go!

Lil Fuj is All Grown Up!
Congratulations Jenn & Kevin!!!
Yes, we were as tired as we looked....
Two of my little sisters (missed you Kimmie!) - yes, Kevin is tall, but they are also that short :)
Our traditional wedding picture...
...and yes, the KFuj's fought over who got the middle...
I love this picture with my mom and sister...

Back Up Careers
Like Queen B (shocker), I don't know what I want to be when I grow up, but there are several random activities that I excel at:
1) Dog Grooming - Oskar has never been to the groomer and, ever since the "tail incident", has looked respectable. Not bad for a long haired dachshund.
2) Scheduler/Organizer/Coordinator - I created a 3 page itinerary for my trip/surgery in Colorado. I will be creating the itinerary for our vacation to Pennsylvania/Ohio/Virgina/New York in August. While probably not as fancy as The Queen's, it will be just as detailed.
3) Wedding Planner - A direct result of #2, not only did I plan every last detail of my own wedding, but I am now the wedding planner for my uncle's wedding in February 2009 - and he just doubled the guest list from 50 to 100.
4) Cupcake Baker - I owe my delicious cupcakes to Pilsbury. People rave about them at work, which makes me laugh - it's mix from a box.
5) Medical Field - No real skill, but thanks to my plethora of medical conditions/experiences over the years I'm pretty well versed in basic medicine.
6) Tech Support for AT&T Pearl's - At least I have been for KFuj, LilDahl, and LilDahl's friend Cassie.
If you can figure out a way to combine them to make a decent income, please let me know!

Jenn Ann, Trendsetter?
I've never considered myself much of a trendsetter, but by my becoming a follower of the Kim1Champ School of Blogging and Queen B Pearl Addiction (minus the hassles with Sprint), it appears that both KFuj AND my Sistor have followed suit and have succumbed to both blogging and BlackBerries - and even better, blogging about BlackBerries!!!
Granted KFuj is already on her second Curve, and my Sistor can't figure out how to use her Pearl, but with a demo tomorrow for the sistor and this weekend's BBM tutorial for KFuj, they should be ready to go with discrete photography and mobiley blogging!

Why I carry a purse MOST of the time
Knowing that I would be spending most of last Saturday with the anti-purse portion of the HCBC, I willingly complied with their anti-purse lifestyle to avoid being taunted for my Coach purse.

I traveled light and stuck only my chapstick, drivers license, debit card, and Mr. Pearl in various pockets of my jeans.
Sometime Saturday night (possibly during our Wal-Mart Adventure?) the corner of my debit card became bent so bad that it was no longer usable. When I tried to buy stuff at Target on Monday, it was spit back at me and declared not readable. Thankfully I'd returned to my purse carrying habit and had an alternate method of payment.
I ordered a new card from WaMu (which I promptly received only 2 days later!) and vowed that I'd stick with purses unless I was somewhere with the hubby. Hubby's make great purses :)

Hi-ho, Hi-ho...
...It's off to Tampa, I go!
Even though I'm not a permanent A 1-15 like some HCBC members I know, I'm quite happy with my A33 from Ontario to Phoenix this morning. That will ensure that I get a window seat to nap in for my 6:35 AM flight.

I'm gonna be in PHX for about an hour before I head off to Tampa - Jane, any chance you'll be there? :)

Virtual Friends
As I mentioned on Tuesday, my Chiari Twin Tammy had a repeat brain surgery yesterday.
This morning I received a BBM (that's BlackBerry Message for those of you without CrackBerries) from her boyfriend letting me know that she did well and was sleeping (which is pretty much all that you do for the first few days after brain surgery). He thanked me for talking to her about the condition and helping her feel normal (which is something that all Chiarians so desperately need!) and mentioned that she talks about me all the time. That got me thinking...
The majority of the people that I "talk" to on a daily/regular basis are what I would classify as Virtual Friends. Several live out of state, one I've never met in person, others I've only met in person for a few hours total. Yet, these are some of my closest friends and people that I tell just about everything to. I love technology! :)

For Queen B
Yesterday, Queen B posted For Kim. Today, I post for Queen B.

I also propose that Queen Jenn Ann Says will now begin a series titled "SFIA and EFIM" (Spanish found in America and English found in Mexico). I swear we're turning into Canada.

HCBC Family Tree
This is for Bianka...and anyone else that has ever wondered how we all "know" each other and came to be the HCBC.
In the beginning, there was LoSpace - book club & radiology friend of Jane and Jane's first exposure to blogland (First Post: September 29, 2006) and Kim1Champ - coworker and BFF of Jane (September 30, 2006).
Kim1Champ (and Jane) begot the Two Historians Photo Blog (November 27, 2006).
Kim1Champ begot Queen B - coworker and virtual friend (December 2, 2006), Rachel Made Me Do This - coworker of the infamous Rachel aka Kim1Champ's sister (January 23, 2007), Jane (February 2, 2007), and The World in My Eyes - Kim1Champ's BFF from high school (January 28, 2008).
Random Thoughts - coworker of Kim1Champ and Jane, not sure how she came to blog (January 25, 2007).
Rachel Made Me Do This begot Bianka's Baby Blog - friend stolen from the hubby (February 23, 2007), Pickle - coworker and friend of Rachel (November 4, 2007), and KFuj - friend stolen from Kat's hubby (February 6, 2008).
Jane begot Skinner Family News - sisters (April 12, 2007), Happy Bunny - daughter (June 3, 2007), REM327 - daughter (also June 3, 2007), Look For the Brighter Side - cousin (January 27, 2008), and Nanifestos - you know, I'm not quite sure on the relationship here...? (February 24, 2008).
Teri's Thoughts found Kim1Champ on the Christmas Blog and the rest is history... (June 11, 2007)
The HCBC was officially formed June 12, 2007.
Thanks to Jane for aiding in the historical accuracy of this account :) And if I missed something, or was not quite right, I apologize.

Oh Alright...
Happy Birthday Queen B!!!

In honor of your birthday, here's a list of 22 reasons that you're cool:
1) Your birthday falls in a great month!
2) You regularly blog Monday through Friday early in the morning so that I have something to look forward to when I get to work.
3) You assist me in being "productive" at work.
4) Regardless of whether you're in CA or TX, you're just a text message away.
5) You are also addicted to reality TV.
6) You consider crossing one thing off your to-do list each day to be an accomplishment.
7) You believe pets are like children.
8) You have fun with post-its.
9) You also want to be like KT/The Champ when you grow up.
10) You make up catchy new words/names like mobiley and Kim1Bump.
11) You have a strange affinity for staples.
12) You teach us cool stuff like how to make hearts.
13) You also have a friend named Margo.
14) Your love of Chuck Norris is rivaled only by my hubby's love for him.
15) You understand that the world quite possibly revolves around TiVo...after blogging of course. (Let's not forget this one.)
16) When TiVo fails to properly record AI, we find a work around.
17) You understand OCD and sometimes take it to a whole new level.
18) Your middle name is not Ann.
19) Something only you will understand :)
20) Gobble, gobble
21) We're possibly long lost twins
22) We both dedicated our 322nd posts to each other on our respective birthdays :)
To everyone that tolerated my somewhat excessive and random/pointless posts over the last week or so...please know that it was all done in an effort to make Queen B's birthday post my 322nd post! Thank you for your support!

Birthday Extravaganza - Sunday
I've been having quite the celebratory extravaganza for my 27th birthday. Sunday night was dinner at The Melting Pot with the family. We sit down with our rather rambunctious party of 8 and my Uncle begins to heckle the server. My sister and I at the other end of the table immediately think that we both know her from somewhere. We think high school, but that doesn't seem quite right.
Dinner progresses and we still can't quite figure it out. The server mentions she's been married about a year. My mother and in-laws are deep in conversation naming our as-yet-unconceived children (father-in-law wants a granddaughter and mother wants a grandson). They are throwing around both girl and boy names and are trying to come up with "cool" initials (i.e. I'm JAK). They ask the server her initials - DLS, for Dustin Leigh.
BINGO! How many girls are named Dustin in California? (One of you nutty HCBC girls will Google that, so I'll just continue). I instantly know that she's one of the "Beauty Queens" aka "Blondies" from the Amazing Race. I tell the fam when she runs off for our next course and then make my father-in-law confirm that she is in fact who I think she is.
The family then hits her up with a bunch of questions and I request a picture with her - hey, it WAS my "birthday"! About this time I've texted the Champ and Rach (huge Amazing Race fans - sorry Jane, I didn't have your cell until today), and Kim of course replies that I must get a picture for the blog...here you go:

And thus, this is why we need to go back to The Melting Pot in Brea on the last Tuesday of the month for Girls Night Out. That way we can stalk poor Dustin and make her an honorary member of the HCBC!
BTW - while I am not a small girl, Dustin is itty bitty of Rachel proportions.

Girls Night Out
More to come on my dinner at The Melting Pot last night, but first...
HCBC Members: Mark your calendars for the last Tuesday of the month. The Melting Pot offers a Ladies Night for $28! It's March 25th (if Kim1Bump isn't making her debut) in Brea. And if we're lucky, one of our favorite reality TV stars just might be our server...more to come on that too!
