OC Fair - Round 2

Yesterday Alex, Tony, and I went to the Fair with KFuj and Kyle. KFuj blogged about all the food we ate, so here are the pictures and my review of the Baby Care Center.

Considering that the Baby Care Center is at a temporary location, I was even more impressed. I've previously said that the only thing the BCC at Disneyland was missing was water for the moms. The Fair has a water cooler (and extra 5 gallon bottles)! And AC that KFuj was able to lower! And 2 nice comfy brand new couches! With pillows! And changing tables! And flowers on the end tables!

7.5 Month Stats

The boys had their 6 month Well Baby visit this week (we're a month and a half off due to Tony's surgery, we'll be back on schedule at a year).

Alex weighs 23 pounds and is 28 inches tall.

Tony weighs 21 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall.

That puts them both in roughly the 75th percentile for their age. I love my big boys!

I had a moment of panic two hours before their appointment (when the boys STILL hadn't napped) and asked Striker to come with me. I did their last appointment by myself, but they've been fussy, teething, and making a whole new routine for themselves this week, so I wasn't confident that I'd be able to prevent a hysterical meltdown post shots for either boy, much less both boys. Striker met us there, tears were minimized, the appointment went much faster, Striker got a free follow up for his lab work, and everyone was happy. YAY!

Twinfants Grandparents and Mickey

...Oh my! On Sunday we went to Disneyland with Oma, Opa, and Grandma. We went on Dumbo and the Carousel. We made two attempts at Small World, but it kept breaking down (luckily not when we were on it).

Striker, Oma, and I went on Space Mountain. Grandma and Oma went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while the boys napped.

The boys cooled down and played on a bench while we tried the corn dogs. They were yummy!

New Addiction Alert

All organic ingredients, mostly water, not too sweet, super yummy. I haven't tried them all yet, but this will definitely be one of my favorites!

(Almost) Fully Loaded Couch

Felix prefers to do his own thing in the kitty condo, but the rest of us are piled on the couch.

Alex Likes Reading...

But that's not what this post is about.

This morning Alex fell asleep in my bed, so I left him there (in the middle, with the monitor on, so I'd hear him if he woke up and started moving...he can't do so without some grunting), with the TV on for background noise to drown out the intermittent jackhammering. I went downstairs to feed Tony, and after awhile heard a new show come on, then another. Hmmm, I heard a few peeps out of Alex and headed upstairs to get him. I found him holding the TV remote and pressing buttons. It was absolutely hysterical, especially when he looked up and saw that he'd been caught red handed, then made a face that seemed to say "what? You left the remote right next to me!" If only I'd had my camera phone!

Happy Birthday KFuj!

I hope you have a great day! We'll celebrate again when you get back...actually, I think Ed and Blanca are throwing a wild party today, but promise to clean up before you come home ;)

Happy 7 Month Birthday!

Hmmmm, not a lot has changed since last month, but this month we:

-Graduated from infant carriers to regular car seats...and retired the snap-n-go...sniff
-Celebrated Striker's first Father's Day
-Started wearing "big boy" jammies aka those without feet
-Finally really started growing hair...Alex will be needing a cut soon on his mohawk
-Love eating their baby food...they are much bigger fans of veggies than fruit, but are getting better at tolerating the fruits.
-Spent lots of time in the pool...thanks KFuj and Grandma!
-Started riding in carts and sitting in high chairs because both are good sitters!
-Spent more time at Disneyland and went on Small World for the first time
-Spent lots of time chewing on fingers...both theirs and mine...they are not fans of teething aids, but fingers are magic.
-Watched Striker play hockey
-Played with the "A Team" at the annual picnic
-Searched for MLB Mickeys
-Found Shades to be completely hysterical...he's now required to attend all photo sessions
-Laughed regularly at the furries...were they not a constant source of entertainment, I might kick them out most days
-Started moving so well that they must absolutely be strapped in or on the floor in a secure area to be left alone for just a minute
-Celebrated our first Independence Day
-Started "talking" to each other and playing together...though playing sometimes looks like hitting or kicking

Alex:
Alex is quite the talker and pretty much makes all of the ba, da, ga, ma, sounds. He laughs and smiles all the time, but almost NEVER for the camera. Sigh. He was a huge fan of the NBA playoffs, though it pained me to watch more than the last 5 minutes of any game. He has his regular "outside face" whenever we are outside, but smiles and laughs all the time when inside. He has been committed to becoming mobile since our multiples playdate at the beginning of the month (he got to watch our neighbor twin girlfriends who just started crawling), but has really made progress in the last week or so...crawling can't be too far off. Yikes! Alex just barely hit 23 pounds...thankfully he has started stretching and slowed down on the weight gain so my poor arms can get a break! He can wear 18 month clothes without a problem and still squeezes into 12 month clothes. Poor guy continues to drool and chew his fingers like crazy, but still hasn't cut a tooth.

Tony:
Tony was sad when NHL playoffs ended, but is quite happy watching World Cup. (BTW, when did I start watching so many sports?!) He is such a good sleeper! He naps like clockwork and falls to sleep easily and often times on his own. While not a fan of trying to crawl, he does rock and scoot himself where he wants to go. He cut his 2 bottom teeth this month...YAY!!! Such a big boy, and relatively painless. Tony is right at 21 pounds and wears 12 month clothes, though 18 month stuff isn't exactly big.

Have I mentioned that I love these boys?! ;)

'The Bees'

Pretty sure these boys will be soccer players...World Cup, or at least the vuvuzelas, captures their undivided attention...unless one of the furries happens to walk by and distract them.

On the Move

While not yet crawling, Alex is definitely on the move! He started out on his back with his head on the W and his rear on the X. He scooted off the mat, rolled onto his tummy, then pushed himself back with his arms until he got stuck against the couch.

Oskar is a Dog

For the first time in a long time, possibly ever, he actually curled up in the dog/cat bed voluntarily.
