Wine Tasting Extravaganza

KFuj and I are going wine tasting in Temecula today. Through our expert planning (aided by Google Maps), we have determined that there are 5 wineries within a mile of each other. The husbands are going golfing while we taste and then they are picking us up for dinner, as we plan to be in no position to drive.

Would anyone like to place their bets for how much wine is tasted and how many bottles are purchased between the two of us?

Confessions of a Starbucks Addict

Ever since I discovered that I could buy $100 of Starbucks gift cards for only $80 at Costco, I've pretty much been going to Starbucks every morning on my way to hell...I mean...work. The Christmas cups make me happy and a little caffeine never hurts anyone!

Disclaimer to the hubby: please stop reading here. Don't say I didn't warn you.

For the last few weeks, my early morning BBM buddies have heard me talk about my HSB sightings/encounters. What is HSB? HSB is my Hot Starbucks Boy. He works the drive-thru and just adds a little bit extra happiness to my morning. Not only is he HOT, but he's super nice and happy at such an early and unpleasant time of day. He strikes up short conversations that aren't the canned questions all of the baristas ask.

About a week ago, I decided that HSB was going to marry my sistor. I began to stalk him - oops, I mean gather details about him. He works irregular morning shifts and appears to be of college age. His name is Adam. When he's not in his Starbucks attire I imagine he's surfer/clean cut based on the haircut and leather bracelet he wears every day. Today he had on a wristband indicating that he had a fun night out last night and is of legal drinking age. I'm working up to the actual important stuff like are you single and would you like to marry my sistor?. :)

As previously mentioned, KFuj and I visit the same Starbucks. Until this morning, she had not had the pleasure of seeing HSB. I'll let her recap her first meeting with HSB in her comment (which she's just itching to write!).

The best part about HSB? He properly aligns your cup for you!

Coincidence? I Think Not!

Is it a coincidence that the day after my Steak Fries post the hubby finds out that his triglyceride levels are borderline high despite his daily dose of Caduet? What does this mean? Well, he's getting retested in a few months (since he thinks it's coincidental that he had dinner at Outback a day and a half prior and missed a few doses of Caduet in the weeks leading up to the test). The Wife thinks he should join her in moderating the amount of carbs, alcohol, and fats that he eats. I will be posting a poll for you to agree with me - I mean vote on the best course of action. :)

Steak Fries

After dipping his fries in A-1 this weekend, Striker said, "this brings a whole new meaning to steak fries".

FIRE! We are fine!

Despite news reports, we are at least 5 miles away from any of the fires. Our house is pretty much in the middle of the nice flat Chino Basin. However, 2 people on my team at work have been evacuated - one in Chino Hills and another in Anaheim Hills. Pictures do not do justice for what we have witnessed. Last night we could see flames all along the ridges. I took some pictures with my fancy camera and telephoto lens which I will post later. Most of the freeways are open this morning so we are no longer shut off from the southeast.

Carrie Underwood Concert

Sunday night I went with my mom and sister to the Carrie Underwood Concert at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. It's a brand spanking new arena and parking was (gasp) FREE! Great concert too! Yes, we are actually sisters...do you see any resemblance?
